About Me
Hi there, my name is Cheyenne (she/her) and I grew up on the island of Maui with a passion for storytelling, video games, martial arts, and academia. When I’m not brainstorming Jedi stuff, I’m practicing mixed martial arts or goofing off with my husky on Maui’s south shore.
In 2023, I was awarded Forbes 30 under 30 (Games). I also joined the BAFTA Breakthrough USA 2024 cohort for my work on the “Breakthrough Project,” STAR WARS Jedi: Survivor, which recently received several awards and nominations (winning 7 Grammy awards, while its story realization was nominated for BAFTA Games Best Narrative and a Hugo Award. This year I also joined “The Council” at PC Gamer Mag, where a panel of industry experts and other game community members vote on a “Most Wanted” list annually.

An Academic Game Maker
I earned my undergraduate degree in Modern Culture & Media (Production, Screenwriting) at Brown University. I also took various Illustration classes at the Rhode Island School of Design.
During my tenure at Brown, I drove academic and social game development initiatives, including:
Revitalized the inactive Brown Game Dev Club into Brown-RISD Game Developers, a university recognized video game production club with active members from both Brown and RISD in 2015.
Led Brown’s first university-accredited Group Independent Study Project (GISP) on Video Game Aesthetics & Design in 2014. Check out the approved syllabus my peers and I drafted here.
Won the 2015 Creative Arts Council Grant to write a multi-media exhibit design document. Check out the Design Document here.
Won the 2016 SPRINT LINK Award to collaborate with Dr. Alexandrina Agloro for a 1st person exploration game inspired by the radical poetry of Chicanafuturist writer and activist, Gloria Anzadula. Check out the final audio tracks below which showcase an empty/singular coherent experience versus an full/intersectional and dissonant player experience.
Professional Interests
I started my career as a Game Designer and leverage that background to align story and design with effective, scope-friendly solutions.
Having professionally worked on state-based narrative systems for over 5 years, I've developed a passion for dynamic and emergent narrative.
As a Senior Game Writer, I’ve used my screenwriting degree to deliver punchy, complex cinematics and develop a huge swath of fun, memorable NPCs promising one of Star Wars most diverse characters casts to date.
Career History
I have been professionally developing and shipping games as a designer since 2015, and shipped my first professionally recorded and voice-acted lines for the voice talents of the Batman Arkham rogue’s gallery in 2016. Throughout my career, I have had the great fortune of writing for some of the industry’s biggest IPs, including: STAR WARS, Batman, Lord of the Rings, and various other unique IPs.
